Before I could post the chicken broccoli alfredo
recipe, I needed to try it again
with the right portions of cheese. I didn't feel like cooking meat, so instead
I tried spinach and mushrooms, despite my previous experience with spinach, in
bacon and spinach pasta with
less than satisfactory.
The end result was I finally made a spinach dish that I liked. And I made a
mushroom alfredo that wasn't just "mushroom gravy with cheese". And they both
happened at the same time!

I'm a big fan of Pasta Carbonara, which a friend of mine affectionately refers
to as "Breakfast Spaghetti". Raw egg is added to just-cooked spaghetti. The heat
from the spaghetti cooks the egg into a nice coating. Add parmesan cheese, Italian
sausage, and proscuitto (or bacon in a pinch) and you've got Carbonara!
Lacking the necessary Italian sausage, I decided to try something a bit
different. Instead of scrambling the egg, I fried it over-easy with salt,
pepper, and Italian seasoning. I cooked the bacon crispy, rather than my usual
chewy, and topped it with the cheese.

Got a new crock pot, and this was the inaugural recipe! For the longest time, I had
a very bad crock pot. It was small, and the cooking surface wasn't removable, making
even simple things a lot harder than necessary.
So, since I really wanted to try this Taco Chicken Bowls recipe from Budget
Bytes, and a bunch of
other recipes in America's Test Kitchen's Slow-Cooker Revolution books, I bought
myself a new slow-cooker.

Snickerdoodles: The gloriously simple cookie with the silly name. The
ingredient list is short, and all they require is a bit of chilling, a bit of
rolling (frolicking) in cinnamon and sugar, and pop them in the oven.
